Your design, printed by the metre
What we print
Fabric by Missy Rose offers custom fabric printing for Australian makers. Send us your own seamless repeat (a pattern you've drawn, or a print for your small business) and it's printed to order by the metre on any of our 35+ bases, from woven cotton and cotton lycra to swim lycra and canvas. The minimum print run is just 2 metres per design, per base. Your fabric arrives as one continuous length, posted for a flat $14.95 anywhere in Australia.

How it works
- 1Upload your artwork on the Print Your Own page.
- 2Choose a base. Every base can be printed with your design. Not sure which one? The table below and our Fabric Guide will help.
- 3Choose a scale. Attach a scale picture showing how wide your repeat should print, in inches, so it comes out the size you expect.
- 4Order before the round closes. Rounds close on the 15th and the last day of every month at midnight.
- 5Printed and posted. Your fabric is printed after the round closes and arrives 4–6 weeks later, cut as one continuous length.
Artwork requirements
We print exactly what you send, so check these before you upload.
- File type: JPG, PNG, TIFF or PDF. Flatten layers before you export.
- Resolution: minimum 300 DPI. We'll scale your file to match your scale picture. As a guide, an 8-inch (about 20 cm) repeat needs to be at least 2,400 × 2,400 pixels. Enlarging a small image won't add detail; it will print blurry.
- Seamless repeats only: we print seamless repeating patterns, not placement prints or single images in a fixed position. Your file should be one tile that joins seamlessly on all four edges, which we repeat across the whole width. Check the edges line up, or you'll see seams where tiles meet.
- Colour profile: RGB or CMYK, either works. Colours print slightly softer than on screen, and very bright neons are the hardest to reproduce.
- Rights: by uploading, you confirm you have the rights to the whole design.

Pricing
Custom printing is priced by base and sold in half-metre units (quantity 1 = 0.5 m), with a minimum of 2 metres (quantity 4) per design, per base.
Everything you order of one design on one base arrives as one continuous length. Order quantity 6 and you'll receive a single 3-metre piece.
Prices include GST. Shipping is a flat $14.95 Australia-wide, for any quantity; New Zealand rates are calculated at checkout. Ordering more than once in the same round? Email us your original order number and we'll add the new items without charging shipping twice. Afterpay and our in-house lay-buy are available.
Turnaround and rounds
We print in rounds, two a month. Each round closes on the 15th and the last day of the month at midnight. Your fabric is then printed and posted, usually 4–6 weeks after the round closes. Miss a cut-off and it simply goes into the next round. You can follow every round's progress on the Round Tracker.
Custom printing FAQs
Is there a minimum order?
The minimum print run is 2 metres per design, per base, so you can print one design on two bases with 4 metres in total.
Can I print a design I found online or a licensed character?
Only if you own it or hold a licence to print it. By uploading, you confirm you have the rights to the whole design. If you're printing an artist's work, ask them for written permission first.
Will the colours match my screen exactly?
Close, but not exactly: fabric absorbs ink and every base takes colour slightly differently. We don't offer Pantone or colour matching to a specific swatch, so if exact colour matters, start with a 2-metre order, or ask about a test print if you're ordering more than 10 metres.
Can I get a sample?
Our $5 Touch & Feel pack covers our five most popular bases, and the full sample library covers the whole range. For orders over 10 metres, we can do a test print of your design first, at your cost. Email us before ordering to arrange it.
Can I sell things I make from my fabric?
Yes. It's your design, so you're free to sell what you sew from it.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?
We don't offer wholesale pricing; the per-metre price is the same whatever you order, and shipping stays at $14.95. Larger orders still arrive as one continuous length. If you're planning a big order, email us first.
Can you reprint a Missy Rose design from a past round?
Yes, use Fabric Design Reprint and we'll confirm the design and print size with you within 48 hours.
